Northwestel is Seeking a Director of Aboriginal Relations

For over 60 years, Northwestel has served the largest operating areas in the Western hemisphere and become the communications and entertainment leader for northern Canadians in 96 communities throughout the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Northern British Columbia and High Level, Alberta. Much of Northwestel’s success can be attributed to a philosophy that employees are the organization’s single most important asset. Northwestel promotes a culture which provides employees with an opportunity to join a dynamic customer-focused team that listens and responds to changing customers’ needs and expectations. The organization has a strong commitment to continuous improvement and a goal to be one of Canada’s 50 Best Employers by 2011.

As Northwestel works towards their vision for 2011, they will see a transformation – through employees, they will improve their relationships with customers and achieve operational excellence. The organization values their Aboriginal customers and has made a commitment to develop long term mutually supportive business relationships; support economic development in the north and growth of Aboriginal owned businesses; and promote communication in response to social, economic and environmental issues that are of mutual concern to Aboriginal peoples and Northwestel. Embracing this comprehensive and ambitious strategy, Northwestel is seeking an energetic, career-minded professional as the Director of Aboriginal Relations who will assume the responsibilities to lead, develop, and build on the success this vision and strategy has had so far to to-date.
