The First Nations Financial Management Board is a non-profit institute that provides tools and guidance
that will instil confidence in First Nations’ financial management and reporting systems to support
economic and community development. It was established as one of four national First Nation
institutions under the recently approved First Nations Fiscal and Statistical Management Act (FSMA).
Since its inception in 2007, the First Nations Financial Management Board (FNFMB) has developed
financial administration standards that meet the requirements of the First Nations Fiscal and Statistical
Management Act (FSMA) and the interests of First Nations, taxpayers, investors and capital markets.
With integrity, responsiveness, and relevance as fundamental tenets, the FNFMB offers services in
support of financial administration law development, financial management system certification, local
revenue account reporting, intervention, and capacity development.
THE CANDIDATE:
FNFMB is seeking a Manager, Standards & Certification responsible for assisting First Nations to
develop organizational financial management capacity, and for planning and coordinating certification
reviews of First Nations communities. Reporting to the Director of Standards and Certification, this role
will facilitate and support First Nations in understanding what they need to successfully achieve and
maintain FNFMB certification. The Manager will plan, coordinate and monitor the work of independent
reviewers, and, work with First Nations in developing and providing capacity development resources so
that they can achieve the standards established by FNFMB.
