International Women’s Day 2012

Each year on International Women’s Day, thousands of events are held around the world where women connect to celebrate and honour the economic, political and social accomplishments of women.

The Honourable Jennifer Howard, Minister responsible for the Status of Women, hosted the Government of Manitoba’s annual International Women’s Day celebration which this year recognized ‘Women Helping Women in Business’.

Today, Women entrepreneurs are one of the fastest growing segments of our economy and represent a rising economic force.  Manitoba’s business community is blessed with some very visible icons of women’s entrepreneurial achievement.  Ms. Brenda LaRose, Founder and Managing Partner of Higgins Executive Search was recognized along with six other women from Manitoba who have been successful business leaders while raising families, acting as advocates for change in their communities and fighting gender discrimination.
