Career Opportunity - Executive Director


The Nicola Tribal Association (NTA), with over 2500 members, provides assistance to promote language and culture to seven member bands which include: Coldwater Indian Band, Cook’s Ferry Indian Band, Nicomen Indian Band, Nooaitch Indian Band, Shackan Indian Band, Siska Indian Band and Upper Nicola Indian Band. Involved in forestry, ranching, and logging with some also participating in commercial retail ventures, industrial, general and residential construction, these communities are building promising futures through cultural, social and economic development. 

NTA’s core funding is provided by Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada. With two departments, Tmixw Research and The Nicola Watershed Stewardship and Fisheries Authority, NTA provides technical support to the political leadership and seven member communities. The NTA is seeking an Executive Director who will take on a variety of challenges and opportunities and play an integral role in the continued strengthening of the vision for this organization. 

Located in southern British Columbia in the heart of the Nicola Valley, a wide range of outdoor activities are at your doorstep such as cross country skiing, snowmobiling, boating, fishing, hiking, and cycling. 

Reporting to a new Board of Directors, the successful candidate will provide leadership, direction, and guidance to all staff. She/he will provide advice to the Board on a broad range of issues related to the administration of NTA including improving internal administrative policies, governance, fiscal management and strategic planning.
