Career Opportunity - Band Manager


Located in the Peace River area of northeastern B.C., is Doig River First Nation (DRFN), a Dane-zaa community, offering a wide range of outdoor recreational activities and adventure. With a proud history, rich in culture and tradition, the community is building a promising future through cultural, social and economic development initiatives. With the surrounding area rich in natural resources, including major oil and gas deposits, DRFN’s vision is to expand their economic development and revenue opportunities, offering an environment that integrates non-Indigenous cultures and economies with traditional knowledge and culture of the Dane-zaa.  
Reporting to Chief and Council, the Band Manager will advise the leadership on a broad range of issues related to the administration and economic development of the band including policies, processes and governance. The successful candidate will oversee the Nation’s administration of programs, projects and services including housing, economic development, public works, lands, forestry, education, health and finance. She/he will demonstrate strong abilities in strategic planning, human resource management, policy development, budget and financial management. With a strong track record in acquiring funding and identifying new sources of revenue to support economic and resource development initiatives, the Band Manager will liaise, influence and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
