The Haisla people have a rich history of over 9000 years. Living and working on the water has always been important to the Haisla; “we have lived off the land and water resources of the Douglas Channel and our traditional territory for hundreds of years and it will continue to be the heart of everything we do.”
Home to about half of the 1700 Haisla people, Kitamaat Village sits at the head of the Douglas Channel in British Columbia. With economic opportunities abound and boasting many outdoor recreation options, Kitimaat offers a balanced lifestyle set with the backdrop of a majestic coastal mountain range.
