The Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB), with over 1,800 members, is the largest of the seven Indian Bands comprising the Okanagan Nation. With a proud history, rich in culture and tradition, the community is building a promising future through cultural, social and economic development.
The Band is located at the head of the Okanagan Lake and just minutes from Vernon, BC, a community ranked by MoneySense Magazine in 2010 as the third best city in BC based on prosperity, affordable housing, lifestyle and climate. The Okanagan Indian Band is seeking an Executive Director who will take on a variety of challenges and opportunities and play an integral role in the continued reinforcement of a vision for a prosperous future. The successful candidate will report to Chief and Council and provide leadership, direction, and guidance to all administrative and support staff. She/he will advise Chief and Council on a broad range of issues related to the administration of OKIB as well as foster an environment that promotes personal and professional growth and quality service to OKIB membership.
