Career Opportunity:Executive Operating Officer

Founded 66 years ago as the Union of Saskatchewan Indians, the organization evolved and became the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations (FSIN) in 1982. Headquartered in the thriving City of Saskatoon, representing 74 First Nations in Saskatchewan, the FSIN is an economic, educational and cultural organization that advocates and strives to protect, promote and implement the Treaty and Inherent Rights of the peoples and communities it serves. 

Rich in First Nations culture and traditions and under new political leadership that is committed to best practises in governance and transparency, the FSIN is seeking an influential leader to strategically facilitate the restructuring and revitalization of the organization. 

Accountable to the political executive team and reporting administratively to the Chief, the new Executive Operating Officer will provide advice, recommendations and manage the successful implementation and execution of strategic plans as well as the day-to-day operation of the organization. This role is responsible to lead a broad range of activities that will be delivered through a committed management team while ensuring the goals, objectives and mandate of the organization are achieved.

The Executive Operating Officer will inspire, support and lead the organization ensuring all individuals are performing cohesively and to their highest potential. She/he will liaise, influence and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to: provincial and federal governments, commissions, Tribal Councils, First Nations and both the public and private sectors. With a strong track record as an accomplished leader, communicator, and relationship builder combined with strong knowledge of Treaty and Inherent Rights and governance, the successful candidate will also have in-depth knowledge of First Nations policies, processes and legislation.
