Here is a excerpt from the article:
"Like many organizations today, your workplace likely includes three generations of employees, with a fourth to be entering the workplace soon. According to Statistics Canada in regards to Percentage Growth of the Canadian Population by Age for 2006 – 2011, it is clear that as the Baby Boomers (born between 1946 to 1964) retire there are not enough Generation X, the Cusp Generation, (born between 1965 to 1981) combined with Generation Y or Millennials (born between 1982 – 1995) to fill the workforce roles in the future. There is an alarming declining number of mid-career workers in mainstream. Our community is a little better. About fifty percent of our aboriginal community are under the age of twenty-five, which is made up of both Gen. Ys or iGens (born after 1995). The older iGens are just starting to enter the workforce. This means there will be a shortage of workers following the Baby Boomers to fill existing roles. More alarming is that there are not enough managers and executives to fill leadership roles. Many of our organizations’ future leaders will be younger and less experienced than the leaders of the past or today."
