Vice President, Administration and Finance
The Manitoba
Institute of Trades and Technology is Manitoba's newest college - a unique
educational institution offering post-secondary certificates and
diplomas alongside comprehensive, integrated secondary programming,
all directly linked to current labour market needs. MITT gives
students a competitive edge by providing the latest technology and training for
careers in the areas of Health Care and Human Services, Information and
Business Technology, and Skilled Trades.
Reporting to the
President and Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Administration and
Finance (VPAF) will provide exceptional leadership and champion business
partnership to a broad range of corporate support services at MITT. You will provide leadership, strategic
direction, vision and operational management to the Administration and Finance Division
including finance, human resources, facilities, information technology, corporate
counsel, federally contracted services (English as a Second Language Programs),
campus services (cafeteria, bookstore) and security services. You will thrive and contribute by working
from both an overall MITT and a division-specific perspective.
As a member of the
Executive Council and the Strategy Implementation Team, you will provide
strategic advice and recommendations to the President and the Governing Board
concerning the Institute’s activities and plans. In the combined roles of the Chief Financial
Officer of the Institute and the Secretary-Treasurer of the Governing Board,
you have the accountability for both the financial sustainability and all
growth opportunities of the entire organization. You will oversee ambitious capital planning
and management utilizing Triple P partnerships and funding opportunities that will
directly align with ambitious projected growth for diverse student enrollment coming
from local, regional, national and around the globe.
You
will assist with leading strategic and operational planning aspects for MITT’s
overall growth strategies while overseeing the implementation and delivery of
business, financial and IT systems transformation. Committed to and passionate
about the goals and values of MITT, you will ensure that business, IM/IT, risk
management and finance strategies interact to support the organizations goals
and commitments to its Governing Board, the stakeholders and the students. You will ensure balance of entrepreneurial
understanding with judicious risk management; and interface with senior
executives with vested institutional interests. With a passion for
transformational excellence and innovation, you provide insight and leadership
to the identification and support of new initiatives, business development
ideas, revenue generation, assessment of financial merits including risks and
the potential long-term impacts.
Ensuring appropriate controls are in place, you oversee the monitoring
of all financial and administrative processes and stewardship of the
organization.
